Support
Each MIDIHuman app is an AUv3 MIDI processor plug-in that runs inside a host app, plus a small container app that only shows instructions. The plug-ins make no sound of their own: each one sits on the MIDI path between a part — a looper, sequencer or keyboard — and an instrument, and varies the part slightly each time round. They run on iPad and iPhone.
MIDIHuman Drums ships first. Bass, Comp and Lead follow.
It helps to include which MIDIHuman app you are using, your device, its iOS or iPadOS version, and which host app you are running it in.
Where's the manual?
Inside each plug-in: tap the gear, then User Guide. It has a search field on its first page.
I don't hear anything.
These are MIDI processors, so they make no sound themselves. In your host, route the plug-in's MIDI output to an instrument.
It humanizes, but nothing learns, varies or fills.
Learning, quantize, swing, variations and fills follow the host's tempo and transport. Start the transport. Without it, the plug-ins only humanize.
The apps aren't syncing with each other.
Load them in the same host session and leave SYNC on in each one. They find each other on the device automatically, with no network or account involved.
Which hosts does it work in?
Any host that runs AUv3 MIDI processors. MIDIHuman is developed and tested in Loopy Pro.
New device, or reinstalling?
Download the app again from the App Store with the same Apple Account. There is no login inside the apps.
Privacy policy
The short version
MIDIHuman collects no data. Nothing you do in the apps is sent to me or to anyone else.
What the apps don't do
- No accounts, sign-ins or registration.
- No analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party SDKs.
- No network connections — the apps never go online.
- No access to your contacts, location, photos, microphone or camera.
What stays on your device
Your settings, presets and saved songs are stored on your device, in an App Group folder shared only by the four MIDIHuman apps, which is what lets them sync with each other on the same device. This data stays on your device, and in any device backups you make. Deleting the apps deletes it.
When you save a session in your host app, the host stores the plug-in's settings in its own project files. That is covered by the host's own privacy policy.
Purchases
Purchases and downloads go through Apple's App Store. I never receive your payment details.
If you email me
If you email support, I receive your address and your message, and use them only to reply to you. I don't share them.
Children
The apps collect no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
